Last Saturday, the Rotterdam Open 2016 took place, a tournament with 580 participants from Germany, China, Jordan, Israel, Yemen, the UK, China and many other countries. Kira Strelow represented Taekwondo society Gyeong-rye the Hague in the senior class females -67 kilo. Although Kira was ready for her first fight just after the lunch break, there was a dreadful delay during at her competition field. As a result of this Kira had to start her first fight late in the evening: 21.00 hrs! After that she finally had to beat Karoline Gjelsvik from Norway in the finals. Although Kira was by far the favourite, the constant warming up an cooling down paid their toll and she had to be content with silver. Nevertheless a fine result for Kira, thanks to her coach Theodore Kastanidis. Gyeong-rye trains at four locations in Benoordenhout, Mariahoeve and Leidschendam.
